Fuel Use
OK, you know how to work out fuel consumption rate.
You can use this rate to work out how much fuel you will use on a trip.
Look at this example.
Time = 4 hours
Fuel = 20 litres
Rate = 5 l/hr
This boat uses 5 litres every hour.
You will use 20 litres in a 4 hour trip.
5 l/h x 4 hours = 20 litres
Fuel consumption formula:
Fuel (litres) = Rate (litres per hour) × Time (hours)
20 = 5 × 4
