Percent Calculations

Skipper says I need to take 30% extra fuel. How do I work that out?

You can calculate percentage using this formula.

% ÷ 100 × litres.

% ÷ 100 × litres

To find 30% of 50 litres of fuel
30 ÷ 100 × 50 = 15 litres

To find 30% of 200 litres of fuel
30 ÷ 100 × 200 = 60 litres
